Seminar: How to Do Business with the AfDB
June 11-19, 2007
Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal
The African Development Bank (AfDB) will participate in a series of seminars on "How to Do Business with the AfDB" at four locations across Canada this June. The presentations by the Bank's experts will be aimed at companies that export or are ready to export to Africa and would like to become better acquainted with the AfDB's procurement rules, existing sources of information on business opportunities generated by the Bank, and its priority sectors of involvement.
Opportunities to invest and propose projects directly to the Bank in many sectors, including for infrastructure projects, will also be discussed, as the Private sector division of the Bank can become an active financial partner in these types of projects.
Andrew Hupfau (andrew.hupfau@international.gc.ca), Commercial Liaison Officer with the AfDB at the Canadian Embassy in Tunis, will accompany the mission.
2007 marks the 25th anniversary of Canada's membership in the AfDB Group, which has enabled Canadian firms to bid on projects funded by the Bank throughout the African continent. Canadian companies saw great success in this market in 2006 (with a six-fold increase in the value of contracts won over 2005) and participation at one of these seminars is a way to ensure that your company can take advantage of these opportunities.
