Procurement Procedures:

Registration: There is no formal registration procedure at PAHO. Potential suppliers should contact the Washington Procurement Services Unit to request (in writing) a Company Profile Form.

Procurement Rules: For single purchase orders under $USD 15,000, RFQ is used among at least 3 potential suppliers. For orders of more than $USD 15,000, formal competitive bidding is used.

Field Procurement: Field Offices and Regional Research Centres are authorized to make purchases up to $USD 15,000 per transaction without headquarter's approval. Normally, Field Offices only procure goods and services from local sources.

Finding Opportunities:
RFQs are usually transmitted via email or fax to shortlisted suppliers. There is currently no online information on upcoming or ongoing PAHO projects.
